Only the beginning...

Hi friends!
So summer has officially begun ... well actually like two weeks ago but who's counting right?
So my first adventure of the summer was Lake Tahoe last weekend with some super fun friends.  Taylor, Kevin, and I roadtripped from LA to Granite Bay where we met up with Ryan and his family and then we continued on to Lake Tahoe together!

Look how beautiful it was!

It was just a ridiculously fun weekend full of baseball, tennis, volleyball, books, board games, food, Jesus, conversation, and laughs ... seriously.  I know, it sounds way too good to be true.  Here's the kicker though: we were only there for a total of two days.  Wah wahhhh.  Totally not long enough and we were all so sad to say goodbye to the Hollingshead chateau on Sunday.

We've already planned round two in July and I'm pretty sure we've all made paper chains to count down the days!

Now check out some pictures from the weekend!
 {Warning: We took no pictures.  Kevin got a hold of my camera and this is all that resulted.  Quality pictures here folks...}

This is for you.

It's June!
Which means it's almost July!
Which means it's almost...my birthday!!

20, people.  20!  This is a big year!  Goodbye teenage years, hello scary adulthood.
I figured you'd probably want to start shopping so it is my pleasure to introduce to you...the official birthday list.
You're welcome.

 Chelsea Crew "Janice" wedges in gray
These ridiculously cute wedges...

Ok, yes, I love wedges.  But any of these TOMS are great, specifically in size 8...

My newfound apartment life needs to involve some kind of food and Mr. George Foreman said he could help...

New apartment essentials...

I'm in the midst of making an inspiration board for my new room and I just love the idea of posters and signs kind of collaged on the wall like in this nursery...

Some kind of cooking instruction so I don't live on PB&J or gain 50 pounds...

Aaaaaaand that's all I can think of right now.

The dorm days are oh-oh-over!

{That title is supposed to be sung in the tune of Florence & the Machines' "Dog Days are Over"...}

I can't believe it.  Tonight is my last night living in a dorm.
I'm sitting here in my empty room trying to figure out where the time went!
It's incredible to think of some of the things I have been through in the past two years while living here...

I lived away from home for the first time.

I met one of my favorite people, my freshman roommate Karoline.

I crumbled in my bathroom when I got the phone call that my grandpa had died.  I also had friends come over as fast as they could to come and sit on my bed with me as I cried.

I watched news stories about the enormous earthquakes in Haiti, Chile, China, Indonesia, and Japan as well as the death of Osama bin Laden.

I laughed (a lot), cried, and grew with my Women's Bible Study.

I experienced the pure exhaustion of preseason and life as a college gymnast and also said goodbye to the sport I thought I couldn't live without.

I studied more than I studied in all my years leading up to college.

I grew up.

There's so many more but if I listed them all this post would be as long as a Harry Potter book.  I can't imagine not living in De Neve the past two years.  As much as I am ready to move on and move into my apartment with three other great girls, it's sad to think that this part of my life is over.  I was so blessed by the people, conversations, and memories that took place in Birch 623 and Evergreen 310.

I can't wait to see what God has in store for me at Westwood Palms...
